We finally have the complete results of Isabella's immune studies. We received a voice mail Thursday (Charles listened to it and forgot to tell me about it) and I just got to hear it last night.. LOL!
Isabella's immune system is functioning at 100% normal... Praise God for the miracle he continues to work in our child.... This is an answer to our prayers... I cannot express how excited we are to have our little girl back - it's amazing. This is the one and only gift I wanted and the Lord has given it to me....
She now has the immune system of a newborn baby and will soon be starting her vaccinations again... Our transplant doctor has requested that we not exercise our freedoms until after the cold and flu season just to give Bella the extra protection she needs... In just a few short months our family can attend church as a whole unit - no half or piece missing... There are so many other things that we can do now - and of course we still need to be cautious but it's a wonderfully amazing day for us... I am so very happy - I was before but this is beyond words.... We're blessed this Christmas season.
Love you all,
The C's

Update

So, we're still tired and trying to recover from our long trip. I figured I should update soon or I'll forget everything..
Bella is doing well but has regressed a bit with her temper and that makes life a little rough. She is officially off all of her medications - oral and IV. This is a huge step for her and will make life much more easy for us. The first half of Bella's immune studies came back totally NORMAL and if her second half of the studies come back just as great all of her restrictions will be lifted -ALL! We were asked to please not use our new freedom until after the cold and flu season so she could be free for summer time -WHOO HOO! This means playing with friends, playing in dirt, public pools (not that we will get in on lol), the beach, and church. This was wonderful news!!!
She does have a leaky aortic valve that will eventually need to be replaced, the genetics doctor said she looked great, her knees, legs, walking and said she had great dexterity in her hands. Bella is still 100% engrafted and Dr. Davies said she's very pleased with her development and her facial features have really softened a lot... I'm sure I'm missing stuff so feel free to ask a question if you have one..
I think we're looking at hip surgery some time in June and that will be a 4-6 week stay in Ohio... Back surgery is going to be put off for as long as possible so maybe at age 4 or 5 the latest..
Thanks for following our family.
We love you.
